A Legacy Of Caring

In 1998, Ellen Hillstrom came to the South Venice Civic Association as its Development Director.  She put together a strong and successful volunteer organization, increasing its membership from 400 to over 1,000 within a three year period.  She is credited with moving the SVCA from small clubs to a community based organization with political influence on issues affecting the South Venice Subdivision.  Ellen retired from that position in 2007.

Ellen's experience came from serving 15 years as the Executive Director of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce until her retirement in 1998.

Ellen is a charter member of the South Venice Beach Endowment Trust and serves as its volunteer chair.

Ellen remains an active volunteer with the Trust and its Beach Committee, as well as serving on special task force groups for the SVCA and the South Venice community at large.
